Through Painted Eyes

Through Painted Eyes

I’m standing within a painting of you
Forged by impressions of joy,
impressions of pain
You love me from afar
but with me,
there is no elevation gain

You feel me above you, floating in ethered air
the green velvet drapes above you
for this painter, you did wear

Standing inside a painting of you
my focus has been reframed
I see myself from your side
and God how the tears remain

so darlin, I’ll sketch you in ether
I’ll love you in ink
To paint your blackness away
to bright mellow pink

Unvited, I enter you, through our dreams
I have a special love for you there,
funny we both know nothing, is as it seems

One thing remains seeing through your painted eyes
I’ll always be in here, in love
and I’m sorry that I lied

You wrote me a poem so it was said,
it went like this as I came to you
in feathered bed

Feel that which is big, near like moons.
That which is tiny, afar as stars.
So, the cells in us,
are only distant villages inside me and you

My time inside you is brief, but know
I’ll take out my brushes and paint you again
For in heaven we are both
Renoirs, Monets and Gauguins
